business

The Burren Flower Farm is an eco-conscious flower farm and floral studio situated on an 18 acre plot of land in the heart of the Burren. Known as a botanical paradise on the edge of the Atlantic, the Burren provides the ideal location for growing flowers.
The owner, Sarah, came to Apex Digital Media with a couple of concerns:

  1. Her previous website was self-made and quite outdated, not showcasing off the business and products nearly well enough.
  2. The messaging on the previous website wasn’t clear with the services offered, including:
    • Flower Bouquets
    • Wedding Flowers
    • Flowers for Businesses
    • Floral Workshops
    • Venue Hire
  3. Many potential customers were confused, thinking that the business for wholesalers only.
  4. Most of her sales came from word of mouth and the Kinvara farmers market, and both through the website.
The team at Apex Digital Media set about to address all these concerns and more to help create a sleek, professional website.

To tackle the concerns Sarah had, we set about designing the new website from the ground up with specific technologies to accomplish the goals required. As the business is very colourful and visual, we set about utilising vibrant floral images to really help showcase the products and business itself, a picture says a thousand words after all. In consultation with Sarah, we then set this against a lilac and slate colour scheme to convey the colours of the natural Burren landscape where the farm is based.

Next we looked at implementing an ecommerce platform, complete with easy stock management, and custom pickup and delivery options for customers to order their bouquets and checkout all on the website, something sorely lacking from the previous website.

As wedding flowers are a large part of the business, we then set about creating a dedicated “Wedding Flowers” page to really highlight this area of the business to potential customers. This also came complete with a booking calendar for brides to be to schedule a consultation with Sarah with minimal effort to discuss the potential of The Burren Flower Farm supplying wedding flowers.

Similar to this, we created dedicate pages for businesses that may be looking for flowers on an ongoing basis, think restaurants, reception desks, etc. and also created an events calendar showcasing upcoming workshops and classes at the farm.

Finally, once up and running we set up some ad campaigns for some of the busier holidays for bouquet ordering, such as Mother’s Day and Easter to help drive customers to the website and make purchases.
